Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is currently attending the UN Climate Summit in Dubai. The summit, which is being held in Dubai and has brought together delegations from over 150 countries, aims to address global issues of climate and environmental security. Lukashenko is expected to voice Belarus approaches and proposals in tackling these pressing matters. The event marks the central focus of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Belarus, as a full party to the Convention, ratified the document in 2000 and is also a party to the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement.

On the first day of the summit, approximately 90 dignitaries, including Lukashenko, participated in the plenary session. Prior to the forums official opening and the commencement of the plenary session, President Lukashenko engaged in several meetings with fellow leaders from Azerbaijan, Serbia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Togo, and Botswana. These meetings provided an opportunity for bilateral discussions and collaborations on addressing climate-related challenges.

Upon arrival at Expo City, Lukashenko received a warm welcome from UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UN Secretary General António Guterres. Alongside participating in the plenary session, Lukashenko is scheduled to hold various meetings and negotiations on the sidelines of the summit. These interactions aim to foster international cooperation and devise effective strategies to combat climate change.

The UN Climate Summit is a significant platform for world leaders to come together and tackle the urgent global issue of climate change. With Belarus actively engaging in this international dialogue, President Lukashenkos attendance reinforces the countrys dedication to preserving the planets climate system and ensuring environmental security for future generations.
