Planting Mangroves on Penyu Beach: Protecting the Coastal Ecosystem and Preventing Soil Erosion

Volunteers from the Orang Muda Ganjar (OMG) organization in West Sumatra are encouraging the public to plant mangroves on Penyu Beach in Pariaman. Muhammad Fajri, the coordinator of OMG Sumbar, stated that the initiative aims to protect the coastal ecosystem and prevent soil erosion. Mangroves have ecological value as they act as a barrier against erosion and help reduce global warming. The planting of mangrove seedlings also serves to raise awareness among the citizens of Pariaman about the importance of preserving the environment. The community has responded positively to the project and is eager to experience its impacts firsthand.
