The Importance of Wetlands and Mangroves in Environmental Conservation


PENRO Negros Occidental celebrated World Wetlands Day a day early with a pre-Valentine s Day initiative. They hung tarpaulins displaying this year s theme and planted 500 mangrove propagules while collecting waste along the coast. They gathered 18 sacks of assorted garbage, primarily single-use plastics, to promote clean and healthy wetlands. PENRO Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya highlighted the importance of wetlands and mangroves to our well-being and encouraged everyone to participate in environmental conservation efforts. Orland Julius Padios emphasized cooperation and collaboration in resolving environmental disputes. This event is a reminder to care for our environment as an act of love.
