However, plans for a golf course and residential buildings threaten their homes, as well as the habitats of other wildlife. Protesters argue that these wetlands are crucial for preserving biodiversity, especially for migratory birds. Over 200 migratory species have been recorded in Navi Mumbai, highlighting their importance. Protests aim to raise awareness and conserve these wetlands for the birds.
