The signing ceremony, attended by notable figures including the UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, marked the beginning of this partnership. By supporting mangrove restoration, Lulu and Unilever aim to contribute to climate health and create positive social and economic impacts. Mangroves, known as one of the most carbon-rich ecosystems, can store an average of 1,000 tons of carbon per hectare in their biomass and underlying soils.
Unilever expressed its commitment to protecting and regenerating nature through its brands. By leveraging the scale of its brands, Unilever aims to educate and engage consumers to make sustainable choices. The efforts of Lulu, Unilever, and Mastercard align with the objectives of the Priceless Planet Coalition, which seeks to restore 100 million trees in collaboration with consumers, retailers, and financial institutions. The coalition is guided by restoration partners Conservation International and the World Resources Institute (

Through this collaboration, Mastercard, Unilever, and Lulu aim to support environmental sustainability and climate action. By offering incentives for eco-conscious choices and promoting mangrove restoration initiatives in the UAE, Lulu and Unilever intend to play a significant role in fostering a healthier planet.
With their shared commitment to sustainability, LuLu Group, Unilever, and Mastercard have formed a groundbreaking alliance at COP28. By championing sustainable practices and raising awareness about environmental well-being, the collaboration aims to empower consumers to make choices that benefit both the environment and future generations (
