Careem has launched an Eco-friendly ride-hailing service in Dubai, in partnership with CarbonSifr, a climate-solution company. This new option allows Careem customers to support carbon removal projects in the UAE and the wider region. By choosing the Eco-friendly ride, customers contributions will go towards initiatives such as planting mangrove trees and other nature-based solutions. Careem aims to have a positive impact on the climate by investing in projects that can remove CO2 emissions from the atmosphere. CEO and co-founder of Careem, Mudassir Sheikha, stated that reducing emissions in the transportation sector can significantly contribute to combating climate change, and that Careem is committed to achieving a net-zero future by 2050. The Eco-friendly ride is part of their efforts to fulfill this goal.
