Klimat X: Leader in High-Quality Carbon Credits

Lake Resources NL, a lithium exploration and development company, announced the successful completion of a customer site visit in Sierra Leone. The visit was a significant milestone as it showcased the potential of Lake Resources Kachi Lithium Brine Project in Argentina. The Sierra Leone government officials, together with representatives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), visited Lake Resources site to assess the technology and lithium extraction processes. This marks a positive development for Lake Resources as it continues to make progress in its lithium project.

Lake Resources NL made the announcement, and the news was provided by GlobeNewswire. This achievement demonstrates Lake Resources commitment to advancing its lithium projects and attracting potential investment. The visit allowed the Sierra Leone government officials and the IFC to witness Lake Resources advanced lithium extraction technology firsthand.

Lake Resources NL aims to become a significant player in the global lithium market, primarily due to the rising demand for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and renewable energy storage. With their Kachi Lithium Brine Project in Argentina, Lake Resources aims to produce high-purity lithium carbonate, a key component in battery manufacturing.

Lake Resources successful customer site visit in Sierra Leone paves the way for potential partnerships and investments in the future. It highlights the companys dedication to sustainable and environmentally friendly lithium production, positioning itself as a leading player in the lithium sector.

The Company’s Land Development Achievements

The Company has successfully concluded lease agreements with landowners and completed the necessary disbursements to finalize 30-year leases, as mandated by Sierra Leone law.

With the demarcation of over 20,000 hectares of land now complete, the Company has diligently transferred payments to 170 smallholders under the supervision of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank.

All transactions underwent scrutiny and review by Namati, an international NGO dedicated to ensuring that smallholders are well-informed about their rights. They sign leasehold contracts under the conditions of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent.

The entire process is based on a comprehensive community mapping process led by the Company. It effectively resolves any land boundary disputes among landowners, village elders, chiefdom councils, and paramount chiefs. This confirmation establishes clear title over the land and its associated carbon. The signing ceremony and transfers were prominently featured on Sierra Leone national news.

Undeterred, the Company is actively advancing the mangrove restoration project. An additional 10 hectares of trial plots have been planted with seedlings produced in their nursery. The Company has significantly scaled up the nursery capacity for mangrove planting and is poised to plant up to 300 hectares before the end of the calendar year.

Furthermore, the Company has submitted the Project Document (PD) for the mangrove restoration project, marking a critical step in advancing the project with Verra, the global carbon registry. The PD for mangrove conservation is being developed separately and continues to make substantial progress.
