450 mangrove apple trees were planted in Beaufort as part of a biodiversity protection initiative. The planting program was organized by the Lumadan Assemblyman Office and the Beaufort District Forestry Department Office, with the aim of safeguarding animal and plant habitats. The trees were planted near Kampung Nabahan along the banks of the Weston River, covering an area of one hectare. The program not only helps improve the ecosystem and biodiversity but also ensures a sustainable food source for the Proboscis monkey population in the area.
