Doha Qatar Ministry Environment Climate Change
Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) and Qatar Tourism (QT) are collaborating to develop ecotourism destinations in Qatar, aiming to boost the countrys tourism potential. The initiative was discussed in a meeting attended by Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani and Chairman of Qatar Tourism H E Saad bin Ali bin Saad Al Kharji, along with other officials. The common vision for developing eco-tourism sites and stimulating eco-tourism in Qatar was reviewed, aligning with the countrys development plans and the Qatar National Vision 2030. Qatar, with its diverse landscapes including sand dunes, mangrove forests, and coasts, holds great potential as an ecotourism destination. One of the popular sites is Dahl Al Misfir Cave, a 40-meter deep sinkhole located in Rawdat Rashid, 40km from Doha. Ecotourism brings numerous benefits not only to the environment but also to the economy and culture.
