“Cleanup Efforts in Mangrove Swamp”
Residents and youths are cleaning a nearby mangrove swamp, but more work is needed to prevent dumping. Plastic and trash from Laucala Beach, Caubati, and Kinoya areas float under the Bailey Bridge. They collected 30 garbage bags of waste in an hour, with over 100 bags left to collect. They also cleaned a drain near a supermarket filled with plastic bottles. The goal is to raise awareness of proper waste disposal to protect the marine ecosystem.
